General Chemistry I

Introduces the principles of chemical thought through atomic theory, quantum theory, chemical bonding, reaction types, solution concentration, stoichiometry, chemical structures, intermolecular forces, kinetic molecular theory, and gas laws. The structure of the course emphasizes problem solving and the relationship of these ideas to each other. Quantitative literacy is a significant component of this course. This course meets Blazer Core Curriculum Scientific Inquiry.
