The mission of the Sociology program is to examine how societal groups are formed, how they work, how they compete, and how they change, with emphasis on how these groups influence patterns of social interaction and the behavior of those who live within and among these societies. Graduates develop the aptitude to understand and analyze complexity and ambiguity and can pursue careers in public relations, social organizations, social research, counseling, planning, and development organizations.
