The Phlebotomy Certificate program is a one-year certificate program designed to prepare students for entry-level positions as phlebotomists and laboratory technicians in hospitals, clinics, and other medical facilities. Phlebotomists draw blood from patients in preparation for medical testing. A phlebotomy technician is an integral member of the medical laboratory team whose primary function is the collection of blood samples from patients by venipuncture or dermal puncture.
