The medical ( or health) humanities draws on ideas, concepts, practices, and methodologies from diverse humanistic and artistic disciplines, such as theater, history, disability studies, communication, philosophy, poetry, literature, dance, and ethnic studies (to name just a few of the fields), to inquire into the human condition and its relationship with health, illness, and healing.
