Toxicology
Oregon State University
Toxicology was traditionally considered "the science of poisons" but is increasingly focused on characterizing the adverse effects of both chemicals and physical agents on living organisms and biological systems. Modern toxicologists work in laboratories and the field to identify new hazards, quantify risk, and help craft the regulatory framework governments use to protect both human health and the environment.
