The study of philosophy develops a student's critical thinking skills, reading skills, research skills, and written communication skills and provides the student with a broad knowledge of some of the most challenging and important issues facing human beings. A knowledge of philosophy is useful for the further academic study of nature, theology, human behavior, history, literature, art and politics.
