A behavioral health technician is a medical professional who helps treat patients with behavioral or mental health issues. They work with patients who have a variety of conditions, including: substance use disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, physical or emotional abuse, mental instability, dementia, and psychosis. Behavioral health technicians work with psychiatrists and psychiatric nurses and provide direct care to patients.
