Administrative Office Technology

The mission of the course is to educate the student with the basic knowledge and technical skills necessary for success in both today’s computerized office and traditional office setting. Extensive “hands-on” computerized training ensures a thorough understanding of current office procedures, word processing and spreadsheet applications (advanced applications), presentation software, and instruction in business communications and customer service.

Advanced Manufacturing Technology

This program trains students extensively in manufacturing processes with emphasis on developing and utilizing skills in the maintenance, installation and troubleshooting of electro-mechanical equipment. Areas of study include safety practices, worker characteristics, personal protective equipment, lockout/tag-out, hydraulics, pneumatics, robotics, programmable logic controllers and preventative maintenance.

Aesthetics Technology

The mission of the Aesthetics Program is to prepare the student for a career in the skin care and beauty industry. Estheticians, or skin care specialists, perform skin care and cosmetic treatments, including cleansing treatments, waxing, massage, facials, and makeup selection and application.

Automotive Technology

The mission is to provide the technical training and skill development for students to become knowledgeable in all facets of the automotive field. Students receive instruction in the proper factory approved methods of servicing, repairing and maintaining vehicles. Training also includes learning to make the proper diagnosis using test equipment, precision measuring tools, service manuals and specifications.

Barbering

Building Construction Technology

The mission of the Building Construction Technology Program is to provide the student with the fundamentals of carpentry, residential electrical wiring, residential plumbing, and block and brick laying. Instruction methods include classroom lecture, audio-visuals, and extensive live work projects on actual construction projects.

Computer Aided Design Technology

The mission of the Computer Aided Design Technology (CAD) Program is to teach individuals the correct procedures, skills and attitudes necessary to become successfully employed in today’s modern technological field of CAD; to upgrade or update skills, procedures and attitudes of students presently employed; and to retrain displaced workers. The goal is to teach modern engineering, industrial, and architectural practices to the student so that he/she may become a qualified draftsperson.

Cosmetology

The mission of the Cosmetology Program is to help the student master the skills for passing the state board examination, selecting a phase or specialization in the field and entering employment. Instruction and practical learning experiences are interwoven into a variety of beauty treatments, including care and beautification of the hair, complexion and hands.

Cosmetology Instructor Training

The mission of the Cosmetology Instructor Training is to prepare the instructor student with the knowledge of the classroom setting and instructional techniques to be successful in instructing in the area of Cosmetology and related studies. Criminal Justice: Correctional Officer

The Criminal Justice curriculum contains a broad range of courses design to equip jailers and guards with the knowledge and understanding of inmate processing, maintaining order in the jail and invoking disciplinary measures when necessary. In addition, a jailer may also perform cell searches for drugs and other contraband, inspect the facility for cleanliness and stand guard during exercise periods.

Digital Graphic Design Technology

The mission of the Digital Graphic Design Technology Program is to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary for employment in the graphic design profession. The program emphasizes conceptualization, layout, design, illustration, advertising, and digital and multimedia preparation of printed and electronic promotional materials. Graphic design is a creative process which combines art with technology to communicate ideas and information.

Electro-Mechanical Technology

The mission of the Electro-Mechanical Technology Program is to provide the education and intensive hands-on training in the integration of electrical, electronic and mechanical systems necessary for the student to become knowledgeable and competitive within today’s modern industry. This program incorporates a combination of study from Electronics and Maintenance.

Electronic Systems

The mission of Electronic Systems is to provide the student with the basic theories, principles, lab training, and real work experiences necessary to succeed as a professional electronics technician. Students will learn hands-on utilizing state-of-the-art trainers and lab stations fully equipped with proper power sources and test equipment. The course provides instruction in D.C., A.C., analog and digital electronics with an emphasis on developing proper troubleshooting techniques.

The mission of the Emergency Medical Technology Program is to provide basic and advanced training for emergency medical care and transportation for critical and emergent patients who access the emergency medical system. Emergency Medical Technicians function as a part of a comprehensive Emergency Medical System response, under medical oversight. EMTs perform interventions with the basic equipment found on an ambulance.

Forestry And Ag Technology

The mission of the program is to equip the student with a background of knowledge and skills in the use of equipment and maintenance/repair procedures utilized in the Forestry and Agricultural industry. The skilled student would be able to gain an entry position into the forestry and agricultural industry. The program would provide technical instruction and skill development for the student to become knowledgeable as a forestry worker, agricultural technician or operator of equipment.

Industrial Maintenance

The mission of the program is to equip the student with a background of knowledge and skills in the use of equipment and maintenance/repair procedures utilized in the ever-changing technological work place. Instruction consists of both classroom and practical shop application involving industrial electricity, machine shop, welding and sheet metal.

Machine Tool Technology

The mission of the Machine Tool Program is to provide the necessary training, work experiences, and related technical knowledge for employment within the machining industry. The advanced machine student becomes proficient at both set-up and operation of a wide variety of metal working machines. Using set-up and operation skills, the student can transform standard metal shops into finished products as specified by shop drawings.

Manicuring

The mission of the Manicuring Program is to prepare the student for a career in the nail care and beauty field. Training includes all types of nail care, various types of nails, and nail techniques in three areas: General – 150 clock hours - Sterilization, sanitation and bacteriology, anatomy and physiology, state law, salon management, and ethics. Chemical – 100 clock hours – Product knowledge, ingredients and usage of materials, manicuring and pedicuring, EPA and OSHA requirements.

Patient Care Technology/Medical Assisting

The mission of the Patient Care Technology/Medical Assisting Program is to prepare the student for a career in the health care field in the areas of Certified Nursing Assistant, EKG Technician, Phlebotomy and Medical Assisting. The goal would be to provide the learning experiences including the technical instruction and skill development to enable graduates of the program to obtain the knowledge and experience necessary to secure licensure and become gainfully employed.

Power Sports Technology

The mission of the Power Sports Technology Program is to prepare students with a thorough understanding of the methods of servicing and repair of power sports equipment. The skilled student would be able to gain an entry level position into the service and repair side of the power sports industries. The program provides technical instruction and skill development for the student to become knowledgeable as industry technician.

Surgical Technology

The mission of Surgical Technology is to provide the necessary theory and clinical instruction for the student to become a knowledgeable member of the surgical team. Program instruction is provided through classroom lecture and discussion, laboratory demonstrations and practice, and clinical experiences and assignments. Through affiliate facilities, students are exposed to the latest techniques in a variety of surgical procedures and specialties.

Telecommunications

The mission of the program is to prepare students for gainful employment in the Telecommunications field by providing students with the fundamental theories, principles, experiments and real world experiences in Telecommunications. Students learn through “hands-on” applications utilizing trainers and real-world projects. Telecommunications offers several certifications built on recognized industry standards.

Truck Driving

The Truck Driving Program prepares individuals to build skills in safety practices, operation, vehicle maintenance, and non-vehicle activities associated with truck driving. Instruction includes the operation of vehicles on the interstate, on two-lane highways, in the city, backing and maneuvering. Also included are recordkeeping, and performing pre-trip/post-trip inspections and defensive driving.

Welding Technology

The mission of the Welding Program is to equip the student with the technical knowledge and “hands-on” skills necessary to prepare the student for employment within related welding fields. Students enrolled in the program will be trained through classroom instruction and various types of practical welding exercises within an industrial type- setting environment.
