Students spend 60% in hands-on training while the remainder of the class focuses on theory.

Cosmetology

The instruction provided in the Cosmetology Program is designed to qualify students for employment upon graduation and to aid in the passing of the State Exam. Licensing is required for individuals to be employed as cosmetologists or nail technicians in the State of Tennessee. Skills taught in this program include: the care and beautification of hair, complexion, hands and feet. The course of study includes hands-on and classroom instruction.

Heating, Air Conditioning, And Refrigeration

The heating, ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration program is an individual program that prepares individuals to work in a variety of jobs in the field of residential and light commercial air conditioning and refrigeration. Program Outcomes: Upon completion of the program, graduates are prepared to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain residential and commercial refrigeration; air conditioning; heat pumps; humidifiers; and electrical and gas heating.

Hospitality And Tourism

The Hospital and Tourism program will enable students to develop and practice the knowledge, skills, and tasks necessary for success as employees in the hospitality and tourism industry. The program will provide the student with a thorough understanding of the best practices and techniques employed in the management, marketing, and operations of lodging, food services, and travel-related services.

Machine Tool Technology

The mission of the Machine Tool Technology program is to prepare the student for employment opportunities in the machining fields. Skills taught in this program include: safety, drill presses, cut-off saws, manual mills, and lathes, CNC operations, blueprints, precision machining, as well as Computer Aided Machining (CAM) and Computer Aided Drafting (CAD).

The mission of the Medical Office Assistant program is to provide the students with the knowledge and skills necessary to perform both administrative and clinical services for patients. Training for the program includes classroom theory and testing as well as clinical opportunities. Clinical experiences include a variety of general and specialty practices.

Telecommunications, Networking, And Cybersecurity

Training in Telecommunications, Networking, and Cybersecurity includes instruction in safety, ladder usage, copper, fiber, telephone, and various systems that an entry level telecommunications technician would expect to be familiar with on the job. Further study includes basic computer and networking stills, satellite installation fundamentals, including use of test equipment to troubleshoot and diagnose common issues with communications electronics.

Transportation, Distribution, Warehousing, And Logistics

Truck Driving

The Truck Driving Program prepares individuals to build skills in safety practices, operation, vehicle maintenance, and non-vehicle activities associated with truck driving. Instruction includes the operation of vehicles on the interstate, on two-lane highways, in the city, backing and maneuvering. Also included are recordkeeping, and performing pre-trip/post-trip inspections and defensive driving.

The mission of the Welding Technology program is to prepare the student for employment opportunities in the welding technology field. The Welding Technology program is designed to teach individuals welding principles and applications from the introduction to welding through welding various metals and positions in the following processes: Shielded Metal Arch Welding (SMAW); Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) process, also known as Metal Inert Gas or MIG welding; and Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GMAW),
