Associate in Arts General Degree

The purpose of the Associate in Arts (A.A.) and the Associate in Science (A.S.) degree programs is to provide students with university-parallel or pre-professional courses, which readily transfer to four-year colleges and universities. Upon completing a degree, FPC students generally transfer to area universities with junior class standing.

Associate in Science General Degree

Associate of Arts in Teaching

The Associate of Arts in Teaching is a degree leading to initial Texas teacher certification. The degree has been taken directly from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board's website as printed, with certification areas available for EC-6, grades 4-8, EC-12 Special Education, and other certification fields.

Barber

The cosmetology program is designed to incorporate the theory and laboratory experiences required to achieve the basic competencies necessary for a career in cosmetology, nail technology and/or cosmetology instructor. Students are introduced to the most current techniques based on the National Cosmetology Association Trend Releases. Satisfactory completion of the total required hours of instruction entitles the student to a certificate of completion.

Basic Welding (Occupational Skills Achievement Award)

An Occupational Skills Achievement Award in Basic Welding comprising foundational welding coursework in oxy-fuel welding and cutting, layout fabrication, blueprint reading, shielded metal arc welding, and gas metal arc welding.

The cosmetology program is designed to incorporate the theory and laboratory experiences required to achieve the basic competencies necessary for a career in cosmetology, nail technology and/or cosmetology instructor. Diesel Technology, Basic

The mission of the Diesel Mechanics Program is to provide students with an opportunity to master basic skills, transportation practices, and advanced technology and equipment repair such that they are employable in farm and ranching, industrial, educational, and governmental jobs in fleet maintenance and repair.

Diesel Technology & Equipment Advanced

The mission of the Diesel Mechanics Program is to provide students with an opportunity to master basic skills, transportation practices, and advanced technology and equipment repair such that they are employable in farm and ranching, industrial, educational, and governmental jobs in fleet maintenance and repair.

Diesel Transportation Advanced

The mission of the Diesel Mechanics Program is to provide students with an opportunity to master basic skills, transportation practices, and advanced technology and equipment repair such that they are employable in farm and ranching, industrial, educational, and governmental jobs in fleet maintenance and repair.

Electrical Technology

The Instrumentation and Electrical Technology (I&E) program is intended to prepare students for positions within the petrochemical and related industries. The degree has distinct areas of concentration in Instrumentation Technology and Electrical Technology. Exit points include certificates of completion in each discipline area, as well as the Associate in Applied Science Degree.

Farm & Ranch Management

The Agriculture Program encompasses all key aspects of the progressive agriculture industry and general education courses which when completed will meet the requirements for the Associate in Applied Science Degree in Agriculture (Farm and Ranch Management). The agriculture core course requirements concentrate on agribusiness, plant and soil sciences, and animal and food sciences.

Farm & Ranch Management (Exit Level)

An exit-level certificate of completion in Farm & Ranch Management within the Agriculture Program, built on agriculture core courses in animal science, agronomy, agricultural economics, food science, and an agribusiness operations internship.

Industrial Welding Enhanced Skills

The welding program is designed to train the student in the fundamentals of industrial welding processes with emphasis on layout and design. Specific areas of training include welding processes, welding procedures, blueprint reading, welding metallurgy, plate welding, pipe welding, pipe fitting, plate and pipe layout and fabrication, welding inspection and weld testing methods. Preparation for ASME testing is included in the curriculum.

The Instrumentation and Electrical Technology (I&E) program is intended to prepare students for positions within the petrochemical and related industries. The degree has distinct areas of concentration in Instrumentation Technology and Electrical Technology. Instrumentation Technology

The degree has distinct areas of concentration in Instrumentation Technology and Electrical Technology. Exit points include certificates of completion in each discipline area, as well as the Associate in Applied Science Degree.

Livestock Production Specialist (Exit Level)

An exit-level certificate of completion in Livestock Production within the Agriculture Program, requiring agriculture core courses in animal science, livestock evaluation, animal reproduction, and ranch and feedlot operations, plus selected electives.

Nail Technology

Process Technology

A certificate of completion in Process Technology preparing students for positions within the petrochemical and related industries through coursework in process technology equipment, systems, operations, troubleshooting, instrumentation, and safety, health and environment.

Process Technology (Occupational Skills Achievement Award)

An Occupational Skills Achievement Award in Process Technology comprising foundational coursework in introduction to process technology, process technology equipment, instrumentation, and safety, health and environment.

Pump & Engine Technology (P&E)

The certificate of completion in Pump and Engine Technology (P&E) will prepare students for positions in both field and plant operations within the petrochemical and related industries.

Vocational Nursing

Upon satisfactory completion of a 12-month course of training the vocational nursing student is entitled to receive a Certificate of Completion and is prepared to function in a nursing situation as a graduate vocational nurse. A graduate vocational nurse is eligible to make application to the Texas Board of Nursing to take the NCLEX-PN to become a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN).
