This course builds on the core concepts and techniques covered in the course Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to provide an advanced skill set in a number of application areas of GIS. Using a hands-on approach, students use specialized GIS software to complete projects which focus on GIS applications in business, marketing, local government, urban planning and community development, environmental management, resource planning, hazards, federal government, logistics, and other fields.
