Professional Orientation

This course emphasizes an understanding of professional roles and responsibilities; ethical and legal issues; historical perspectives; preparation standards; credentialing; trends and issues in the counseling profession. Central to this course will be an on-going self-evaluation of the student's attitudes, values, interpersonal skills, and motives for choosing counseling as a potential profession.
